Matt Shepard is a fixture in the Michigan sports scene, currently serving as a host on Bally Sports Detroit. He has done play by play for all four major professional sports teams in Detroit. Additionally, Shep has been the voice of the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University football, each for nearly two decades.

Shepard was born and raised in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He graduated Central Michigan University in 1988.

Shepard now resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, with his wife Lisa and four children.
