The Chargers, who shot 8-for-25 from behind the arc, got five from senior Dalton DeBoer. She had 15 points in total, three 3's in the first quarter kept Dow within striking distance, down 13-9 after the first eight minutes.

Entering halftime, the Chargers trailed by one, getting another three from Dalton, one from sister first-year Delaney, and four points from junior Melaine Kolnitys. Frankenmuth senior and Lake Superior State commit Claire Conzelmann had eight at the half, only adding three points in the second half.

Dow's full-court press pressured Frankenmuth in the last three quarters. The majority of the Eagles' points came in the paint.

Senior Izzy Bernthal spearheaded the inside scoring leading Frankenmuth overall with 15, including 10 in the second half.

A one-possession difference is how the contest entered the fourth quarter. Dow was able to grab a lead and hold it in the final two minutes. Sophomore Allison Stockton, who ran into foul trouble early, would hit the go-ahead three with under two minutes to make it 43-42.

The rest of the way, it became a free throw game. Dow shot 10-for-19, while Frankenmuth went 7-16 overall.

Rounding Things Out

Dow sophomore Lauren Schikorra tallied eight points, four from the charity stripe. Frankenmuth first-year Macy Donovan delivered six points. Tonight's full game archive is available here.
