Panthers Pull Away Late from Flying G's, Remain Unbeaten in JPC

Standish, MI - The Standish Sterling Panthers (8-2) (5-0) outscored the Gladwin Flying G's (6-2) (4-1) by six in the final quarter to win 54-45 in the first matchup between the two as Jack Pine Conference opponents.

Sophomore Karter Fegan, the Panthers only underclassman, scored 20 points. 13 of his 20 came in the second half, with three at the free-throw line. Wearing a head bandage, all of his points came inside the arc.


Gladwin was paced by Donald "Trace" Corlew who finished with 13. Corlew ran into foul trouble, not playing in the game's final two minutes.


The fourth quarter saw two runs from each side. Standish Sterling led by 10 aided by two threes from senior Brody Sullivan a part of a 7-0 run. Flying G's freshman Jacob Pahl cut the deficit to four with two threes of his own.


11 of the 19 Panthers fourth quarter points came from Karter Fegan. The Panthers iced the game making four free throws in the final two minutes.

Standish-Sterling senior Caleb Emans scored 10 points and Gladwin got nine points from senior Matthew Lechner. Tonight's full game archive is available here.
