Saginaw, Mich. - The Heritage Hawks (4-0) remained unbeaten thrashing the Freeland Falcons (6-1) 81-44 in a non-conference game between two schools separated by seven miles.
The first half saw a back-and-forth contest. In the first quarter, the Hawks had five different players score, with senior Tyler Ode leading with seven. Freeland's Wilson Huckeby scored 12 pointers off four threes, keeping the Falcons within striking distance at 22-16 after the first eight minutes.
In the second quarter, Ode, the Toledo University committ, racked up 10 points. Two from beyond the arc, including a 24-footer at the buzzer, giving Heritage a 39-27 advantage at the break.
The Hawks opened up the fourth quarter on a 6-0 run and never looked back. Heritage outscored Freeland 42-17 in the second half.
Three Hawks amassed double-digits, senior Tyler Ode led the way with 23, senior Braylon Isom added 13, and sophomore Joss Bradley recorded 11.
Huckeby was responsible for 21 of the Falcons' 44 points. The sophomore is averaging 21.4 points per game through the first seven contests.

Heritage's next game is at the Motor City Roundball Classic at Ferndale High School, on Friday, December 29th, the Hawks play Chelsea at 4:55 p.m. Freeland's first game of 2024 is at Birch Run on Friday, January 5th, and tip off at 7 p.m.
