MIDLAND, MI - The Dow Chargers trailed at halftime and the end of the third quarter, but were +9 in the fourth quarter, with big-time threes pushing them past the Mount Pleasant Oilers 79-72 to advance to the District Final.

The Chargers shot 13-for-37 from the three-point line, nine of those made in the second half. First-year Delaney DeBoer went 8-for-11 from three, with seven hit in the final 16 minutes. Her makes distanced Dow late, with a deep right-wing three with 2:30 to go that made it 71-67. A Chargers press then forced a five-second violation.
Deboer posted 26 overall in her first playoff game. Junior Melanie Kolnitys secured the win late, making 8-of-10 free throws in the final 90 seconds. She finished with 21.
Mount Pleasant had its best quarter in the second, taking a five-point advantage to the locker room. Senior Jordyn Egger led all scorers with 29 points; she had 12 at the break. She drilled a three at the buzzer for the Oilers.
As the game progressed, Dow was more effective breaking the 2-3 zone of Mount Pleasant, setting up the wing triples in the second half. The Oilers dominated the glass in the first half, with it more evenly contested in the second half.
The contest saw seven double-digit scorers. For the Chargers; Deboer had 26, Kolnitys with 21, and sophomore Allison Stockton had 19, 11 in the first half. For Mount Pleasant; Egger dropped 29, senior Bella Colores scored 13, senior Ava Petrino posted 12, and first-year Lizzie Laney added 10.

Mount Pleasant finished the season 15-7 with an 8-3 SVL regular season record. They graduated five seniors.
