BAY CITY, Mich. - Inducing five turnovers in the first half and imposing a defensive shutout in the second half, the Bay City Central Wolves (2-4) (0-2) were an extra point better than the Saginaw United Phoenix (1-5) (0-2) 7-6. Bay City Central earned the win on their homecoming night.

Three of Saginaw United's first eight offensive plays were turnovers. The second play of their second drive was an interception, returned 30+ yards to the one-yard line by Wolves junior Sebastian McGill. Bay City Central senior QB Joe Gibson ran it in from a yard out to make it 7-0 with 1:11 in the first quarter.
Early in the second quarter, the Wolves had two drives that were turnovers on downs. With under two minutes in the first half Bay City Central fumbled at Saginaw United's 33 yard line.
Two rushes for 22 yards from junior Jovell Robinson pushed it into Wolves territory. Senior Jordan Allen connected with senior T.J. Stevenson a 45-yard pass play with under 20 seconds to go in the first half. The Phoenix missed the extra-point attempt.
In the second half, Saginaw United first two drives went 9+ plays that each ended with a fourth down incompletion. The Phoenix reached the Wolves eight yard line in the third quarter but did not elect to kick a field goal.
Down one, Saginaw United went three-and-out in their final drive of the game that ended with 1:57 in the contest. Four rushes of a combined 10 yards for Bay City Central's Joe Gibson iced the game.
Rounding Things Out
Wolves senior Cam Reed finished with 40 receiving yards and Tylor Anthony had a 30-yard grab and an interception.
